This product provides calcium and other nutrients that are critical to building and maintaining healthy bones. This product provides three well-utilized forms of calcium to support bone health and enhance dietary intake.

Microcrystalline calcium hydroxyapatite (MCHC) and tricalcium phosphate: Bones are vital, active tissues that are made up of a dynamic mineral and organic matrix. Bone mineral matrix is primarily made up of crystals of calcium phosphates known as hydroxyapatite, which give rigidity and density to bones. A constant cycle of resorption of old bone mineral matrix and new bone formation occurs and is called remodeling. To support bone remodeling and bone mineral density, this product provides MCHC, a natural, whole bone mineral form of calcium that is reliably and easily absorbed. In addition to calcium, MCHC contains phosphorus and other minerals along with other bone constituents in their natural proportions. Studies show MCHC to be a wellabsorbed and assimilated form of calcium. To provide added benefit, tricalcium phosphate (a major constituent of the bone matrix) has also been included as a source of calcium.

Calcium citrate: Calcium citrate is a highly absorbable, well-tolerated source of calcium. It is formed by bonding calcium to citric acid, a naturally-occurring fruit acid. Calcium citrate has been shown to have superior absorption compared to many calcium supplements such as calcium carbonate. It is absorbed equally well with or without food and does not produce intestinal discomfort, constipation or gas like some forms of calcium.
Magnesium: Magnesium has a multi-faceted role in bone metabolism. This mineral has an influence on calcium metabolism and bone formation through its role in converting vitamin D to its most active form. Magnesium is also helpful in regulating several hormones that affect calcium absorption and utilization while acting as a cofactor in over 300 enzymatic reactions.
Vitamin D: Vitamin D is a key regulatory hormone that helps the body ensure proper calcium levels are maintained for healthy bones and teeth. This vitamin assists the body’s absorption of calcium while helping limit calcium loss in the urine.

Zinc, copper, and manganese: These three minerals are included in this product for their important roles in bone enzyme activity and formation of healthy cartilage and bone.
Chondroitin sulfate: The cartilage within joints, called articular cartilage, covers the ends of bones to help reduce friction during movement. Injury or wear and tear of joints can eventually damage and erode cartilage and allow bones to rub together, resulting in pain, stiffness, and inflammation. To help encourage the formation of structurally sound joint and cartilage tissue, chondroitin sulfate is supplied in this product.

Other supportive nutrients: Boron is included for its usefulness in enhancing the absorption and utilization of both calcium and magnesium, while strontium is included to support bone formation and reduce bone resorption. This product also contains silicon in an active, soluble form that the body can readily use. Silicon supports the proper construction of collagen in the protein matrix of the bone ultimately generating an increase in bone density.
